A stormy morning during our summer stay at the Cape Hatteras National Seashore.

On my way to work this am – couldn’t ignore the sunrise.

Depending on the weather, I have been taking a short detour on the way into work and stopping by the Naval Academy Dairy Farm. If the sky has clouds and it looks like the sun will break through, I take a few minutes and explore the area. A few weeks ago I came across this scene with a cart that had a broken axle and a missing wheel. It was nearly broken in half. Judging by the cross that was placed I can only assume that it will remain where it is and is now a permanent part of the landscape.
